UTS Becomes a SmartWay Logistics Company Partner

SmartWay is a voluntary partnership program, managed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, that encourages shippers, carriers, and logistics companies to reduce the environmental impact of freight transportation.

What Does This Partnership Mean?

The partnership gives us tools we can use to help clients measure greenhouse gas emissions and achieve sustainability goals. For example, our emissions reporting follows SmartWay guidelines and incorporates SmartWay data.

Using SmartWay’s metrics, we are able to report greenhouse gas emissions broken down by:

  • Carrier Name
  • SmartWay Member Status
  • Shipment Count
  • Total Miles
  • Total Tons
  • Ton-Miles
  • g/TM CO2
  • Total CO2
  • g/TM NOx
  • Total NOx
How Can It Help?

Using this data from previous shipment activity, we can help identify more fuel-efficient carriers to offer even more control over transportation decisions and help our clients reach their sustainability goals.

If you would like more information about our sustainability services, please use our contact form to get in touch.
